Michaela Kefi has special expertise in financial auditing. Prior to joining the Center for Forensic Economic Studies, she served as a senior in the Audit and Enterprise Risk Services Group at Deloitte & Touche's Baltimore office, where she oversaw audits in a wide variety of industries, including retail, not-for-profit, information technology, finance and real estate. She has taken the lead in Sarbanes Oxley compliance reviews and compliance reviews involving SEC and other regulatory agency requirements.
She developed significant banking industry knowledge as a specialist covering a variety of bank clients while working in Deloitte's offices in Prague, Czech Republic and in Houston, Texas.
She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in International Economic Relations and Monetary Economics and Banking at the University of Economics in Prague, Czech Republic, and is a candidate for designation as a Certified Public Accountant.
